I have been meaning to do an embroidery of some simple bird silhouettes for awhile and every time I spy these mugs in the kitchen I remind myself to do it.
This week I finally got around to making one.
I don't know why it has taken me so long to get around making something so quick as the materials were items already hanging about the house.
Filled in with straight stitch
and straight stitch for the wire. ( Mine turned out quite wonky though )

Thanks Amy. I didn't realise just how wonky it was until I ironed it.
Never mind the wire (nearly all the fences round my way have wonky wire). The sweet birdie embroidery characters plus the backing fabric with the lovely oval shape make it a delightful piece.
What a neat idea - good job!!!! Look forward to seeing more of your work.
